Blake Shelton won't be coaching on NBC's The Voice for much longer. The popular country singer has been a coach since the show's debut in 2011. On Tuesday (Oct. 11), Blake Shelton announces he is leaving ‘The Voice’after the next season.
Shelton, the only celebrity to participate in every season of the program since it debuted in 2011, confessed in a post on Instagram that he had been "wrestling with this for a while" before deciding to leave his seat.
This show has changed my lifein every way for the better and it always feel like home to me It's been a hell of a ride over these 12 years of chair turns and I want to thank everyone at The Voice from NBC, every producer, the writers, musicians, crew and catering people, you are the best. It takes a lot of work, passion, and adult beverages (Ha!) to pull off a live show twice a week.- Blake Shelton
For Shelton, The Voice has undoubtedly been more than simply a job; it has also altered the trajectory of his life.
He wrote, "I've made lifelong bonds with Carson [Daly] and every single one of my fellow coaches over the years, including my wife Gwen Stefani!" (ICYMI, the couple met when she first joined the show in 2014; they got married in July 2021).
I have to give a huge shoutout to the singers - the ‘Voices’ who come on this stage season after season and amaze us with their talent and a special thanks to those who chose me to be their coach.- Blake Shelton
"Lastly, it’s about y’all, the fans, who watch and support these artists, us coaches and everyone at ‘The Voice’ chasing their dreams. It wouldn’t happen without you!," he concluded in his announcement.

As the show's host, Carson Daly has traveled with Shelton the entire way. According to the press release, Daly will also be back for Season 23.
Kelly Clarkson, who started coaching in Season 14 and won the most recent season in December 2021 with the trio Girl Named Tom, will reconnect with Shelton for the upcoming spring season.

The "Boys 'Round Here" singer has served as the winning coach for eight of the show's 21 seasons, making him the statistically greatest coach in termsof winning seasons.
In addition, NBC unveiled the season 23 coaches, which include Shelton and Kelly Clarkson, a former coach of The Voice. Niall Horan and Chance the Rapper, two newcomers, will also serve on the judging panel.
