The Dark Caustic Theory - A Test Against Observations In The Milky Way

The Dark Caustic Theory - A Test Against Observations In The Milky Way

According to this theory, the Milky Way is made up of sheets of cold, collisionless dark matter particles with angular momentum that flow in and out. At the locations of closest approach to the Galactic center, these flows form caustic rings (where the density of the flow is formally infinite). A roughly logarithmic halo is produced by the dark caustic theory, with large perturbations near the rings.

Detecting Super Solar Flare Events

Detecting Super Solar Flare Events

A solar flare is a powerful burst of electromagnetic radiation in the Sun's atmosphere. These can now be detected from radio waves to gamma-ray radiation.

Dark Energy - How Are Gravitational Waves Uses To Understand It?

Dark Energy - How Are Gravitational Waves Uses To Understand It?

Dark energy is a substantial component of the cosmos, but its nature is now unknown to us. A slew of alternative gravity theories has been developed to explain the present cosmic acceleration, in addition to the cosmological constant paradigm.

White And Black Holes - Some Interesting Facts

White And Black Holes - Some Interesting Facts

White and black holes are different because a white hole allows anything inside it to escape back into space freely, but nothing from the outside can get in. In contrast, a black hole provides nothing inside to run outside except radiations but pulls everything from the outside in.

Unraveling The Components Of Supernova Neutrinos In Milky Way

One of the primary goals of present and next generation neutrino experiments is to measure core-collapse supernova neutrinos, both from individual supernovae inside the Milky Way and from past core collapses across the Universe.
