Staphylococcus aureus, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Shigella sp., Bacillus sp., and Salmonella typhi were tested against Kalanchoe pinnata methanol, ethyl acetate, and n-hexane extracts and leaf juice.

Several types of bacteria and fungus were killed by extracts of this plant made from water and methanol.

However, there is a shortage of information on the biological activity of extracts from Kalanchoe blossfeldiana and Kalanchoe daigremontiana.
