Article Processing Charges

Unfortunately open access publishing is costly. OA Hepatology levies an Article Processing Charges (APCs) of £200/€235/$310 for each article at time of publication. Authors from institutes from low income, lower middle income and upper middle income countries will have their article processing charges waived by OA Publishing London. Authors from institutes from upper middle income countries are expected to pay administration charges of £20/€24/$30. These charges are expected to be paid prior to the publication of the article.

The article processing charges doesn’t include any taxes. Authors based in European institutes (including the UK) will be asked to pay the Value-Added Tax (VAT, 20% according to European Laws). The VAT may be refundable. Except for the UK, providing us with a VAT registration number will allow the institute to avoid paying this Tax.

Full list of the countries, level of income and information on the article processing charges are provided here.

OA Publishing London may on an individual basis provide APC waivers in cases of need.

Submissions from members of OA Publishing London will already have their processing charges covered entirely or partially by their host organisation. More information about memberships can be found here. We recommend that authors check whether their organisation is a member and if necessary direct their librarians to our membership page.
